"When you have a dream, you've got to grab it and never let go." ~Carol Burnett

So I pretty much suck at keeping up a blog. I've been crazy busy with nothing to write : / but tonight I'm gonna write about all the projects coming up for Dance Company!

So far in Dance Company we have made up a dance to P!nk's Raise Your Glass. It's a really cheesy dance where we're all dressed up in our pajamas having a slumber party. It's corny but really cute and way fun to dance to. We get to act crazy and jump around and slide on pillows. It's great!

We were gonna be doing a Bollywood number, which would be awesome, but things just haven't been able to work out for us to learn it. I guess we'll see how that goes.
But because of not getting to do Bollywood, we are ahead of schedule and have been doing my new Hip Hop routine that I made up. It's gonna be performed at the last Men's Basketball game. It's pretty much one of the best basketball dances dance company has done EVER! Oh, wait.. is that a little premature of me to say? Maybe (knock on wood) but I am really proud of it!
The song is a mix of Ludacris's My Chick Bad, Trey Songz's Bottom's Up, Rhianna's Only Girl, and Chris Brown's Yeah 3x. I picked recent popular songs so I knew for sure that the audience would be instantly engaged into the dance.
The girls have been doing amazing at it! I couldn't ask for a better team. They have been working so hard at it, and they are KILLING IT! Hopefully I will be able to put up a video of it on here when we finally perform it :)

We also have quite a few contemporary pieces and a modern. One contemporary is to Come Thou Fount, Thy Every Blessing. The girls will be in all white, and it will involve the edge of the stage. Aleah, the captain of the company, is going to have a senior piece to This Bitter Earth (artist unknown to me, sorry!) much like the So You Think You Can Dance routine, but not really. If that makes sense. Also me, and two other girls are planning on doing a trio to Fix You by Coldplay, involving a coach. The Modern is to Hallelujah the Paramore song but it is the Vitamin String Quartet version. I don't know much more about the piece.

That's everything we have planned, and I'm really excited about it. We have an amazing team this semester, and an amazing spirit. This Spring Show just might be one of the best that Dance Company has ever done! (knock on wood)
